We hope everyone had a happy holiday season and is looking forward
to another exciting year in 1996. There were lots of people getting
some rest over the holidays here, so we do not have as much hot

and be sure to check out the languages now available for Internet
Explorer 2.0 for Windows 95. All these versions can now be
downloaded from the Windows home page at http://www.microsoft.com
under the Internet Explorer 2.0 in the New Software area.

Also, in case you missed it - if you are interested in seeing the
transcript of Bill Gates' presentation from our Internet Strategy
Day, visit the Microsoft website at: http://www.microsoft.com.

Finally, our friends at the Edupage newsletter (http://educom.edu/)
have put together holiday wishes in many languages so we thought we

QUICK NOTES
1. CORRECTIONS
     A. In the last WinNews newsletter (Vol. 2 #22) many
people received the newsletter with a subject line
that read "Canadian Edition." Please note that
the correct newsletter was sent out, only the
subject line was incorrect. Everyone received
          all of the correct information.

     B. A small percentage of our readers unfortunately
received multiple copies of our last issue. Often
this is a problem with the mail gateway, but this
time this was caused by a small coding error on
our part. We apologize for any inconvenience
          caused.

     C. A few people have been looking to check out our
Corporation Migration Stories on the web. The
          URL was changed to:
          http://www.microsoft.com/windows/support/
          testimonial/stories.htm

You can also see these currently by going to:
          http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ and selecting
the Corporate Migration Case Studies link under
the "What's Hot" section of the Windows Home Page.

C1. WINDOWS 95 HINTS AND TIPS

The following are a few useful hints and tips that will result in a
more productive work environment. We hope these are tips you can
pass on to the users you support.

A. Creating a New File or Folder
Right-click on your desktop and select "New". Then you can choose
to open the any of the file types offered or a new folder.

B. Create a New Folder While Saving a File
When using "Save As" in a Windows 95 application, you can create a

location for the new folder in the "save in" drop-down menu. Then
choose the folder icon on the toolbar on the far right (when you
hold the cursor over the icon it will say "Create New Folder").
When you click on this icon you will then be able to name the new
folder.

C. Start up Programs
If you want to have a program open when you start your PC, go to the
"Start" button, then select "Settings" and then "Taskbar".

Choose the "Start Menu Programs" tab, and select "Advanced". On the
right side of the Explorer screen find the program you want to add
and drag it onto the "StartUp" button on the left side. This
